Burning Man 2003
In 2003 I went to Burning Man and set up the Homeland Security Checkpoint Camp. Imitating the ineffective and irrational new Homeland security provisions my campmates and I went out on the playa issuing deportation orders, summonses and announcing color coded threats. Below is our official stamp and insignia that we used on all documents.
Our version of the Miranda rights is,
"You have the right to remain silent.
Anything you say, have said, will say,
Almost said and thought you should say;
Can and will be used against you."
The Maids, By Jean Genet
I played Claire in a production directed by Dennis Leroy Moore, at The Producer's Club in November 2002. The out-of-this-world set was designed by Robert Del Pazzo (www.delpazzostudio.com).
Seven/Eleven Convenience Theatre
I was part of a fabulous ensemble of Asian and American actors which premiered this now famous show. Performed at The Lower East Side Tenement Museum and produced by Desipina & Company from February to March of 2003 (www.desipina.org).
Street Dreams
I performed a wonderful play put together by two fabulous women (Mandy Gardner and Diane Lennard) from the writings of homeless and formerly homeless men and women attending creative writing classes at a shelter in Hoboken, N.J. I taught a series of theater workshops at this shelter myself. It was performed at the Top of the Times, New York. April- May 2004.
Journey To The End Of The Night
As part of a fantastic ensemble of physical theater actors, directed by the genius Flying Machine Theater Company, in a workshop production of Journey to the End of the Night. The Public Theater, New York. July-August 2004.
