ARTIVISM
Artivism is the combination of art and activism.
When I was young I didn't have the language to explain injustice or make sense of suffering. But I wrote stories and created theater that reflected my reality.
People would listen readily and speak easily, even about difficult topics, when offered the chance to do it through art.
Ever since then, I've used narrative and story to engage communities to heal from hurts, form common bonds, and build collective power.
